Give, if you are able, to assist Coats for Kids

The Sterling Kiwanis Coats for Kids has given out about 510 vouchers as of Nov. 12 at no more than $40 each, and we’re still in the process of parents getting coats with vouchers – that is a little over $20,000.

The community has been gracious. We have received close to $10,000 this year with giving, and have a bit to go. We do have some funds still in the Sterling Kiwanis Foundation. It is vital that we keep our kids in the community warm.

If you are able to give, any amount would be appreciated. Send to Sterling Kiwanis Foundation, Coats for Kids, P.O. Box 44, Sterling, IL 61081. If you have any questions, please call me at 815-622-2839. Thank you for all who have contributed and if gracious enough, there’s still time.

The other day, we ran a story about the Dixon Tourism Board's website, which is hard to navigate and missing key information, particularly about the Petunia Festival. Are we wasting our time examining local tourism websites?
