Senior Kyle Moore, 18, of Rock Falls, is Newman Central Catholic High School’s October Student of the Month. He is the son of Jeff and Angie Moore of Rock Falls; his sister is Kayla Moore, 19, a student at the University of Illinois.

Favorite class: Physics. I really like the teacher, Lisa Cook. It’s something completely new to me, and she makes learning easy.

Extracurriculars: Football, basketball, baseball and spring musical. And I’m a Kairos leader.

After graduation: I hope to attend the University of Illinois and study business management.

Paycheck: I work at Moore Tires, Rock Falls, as a tire tech during the summer. It’s hard work, but I enjoy it.

Best friend: Luke LeMay. We’ve known each other since we were in fifth grade. We’re close with each other’s families, too. Every time we’re together, it’s a good time.

Favorite musical group: Zac Brown Band.

Favorite actor: Daniel Craig (as James Bond).

Favorite TV show: “Big Bang Theory.”

Hobbies: Golfing and pingpong.

Favorite food: Steak – medium.

Favorite place to shop: The Nike Factory Store in Chicago.

Biggest fear: Not living up to my expectations.

Pet peeve: Being poked.

What kind of music makes your skin crawl? Screamo.

Haunts: After football games, we go to McDonald’s and just hang out for an hour.

I’m in the dictionary next to: Dedicated, because whenever I do something, I give 100 percent; I’m never half-hearted about anything.

Secret twin: People have said I look like Matthew McConaughey.

Personal trivia: I can juggle pretty well.

Dream job: Skydiving instructor.

Trading places: Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears. He’s who I look up to in football.

Trading spaces: Australia. The wildlife and nature – it just looks so cool on TV.

Read this: “Eragon” and the Inheritance Cycle series by Christopher Paolini. I like the fantasy-type stories.

Favorite website: Facebook.

What would you do if you had $100,000? I’d give some to my family, and I’d take a trip around the world.

What do you wish your high school offered? Men’s indoor volleyball in the spring. I think we’d be pretty good.

What’s a tip you would give freshmen for making high school life easier? Do what you can to stay friends with your classmates through high school. Time is going to run out.
