Margaret A. Phillips

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – Margaret A. Phillips, 86, of New Hartford, N.Y., formerly of Dixon, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Sequoia Cottage of Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford.

Margaret was born on Nov. 18, 1925, in Lewistown, the daughter of Ralph and Lovina (Raby) Crabtree. She married Donald G. Phillips on Dec. 20, 1946, in Champaign. He passed away May 6, 2012. Margaret worked as a personnel director at Meyers Department Store and at Wysong & Miles, both in Greensboro, N.C. She also worked as an admissions clerk in the emergency room at Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, Fla. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, and loved to fly airplanes and travel with her husband.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Annette Phillips and Thomas D. Sears, of New Hartford; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard P. and Lelis Lalley, of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Cassandra Phillips-Sears, Courtney Phillips-Sears and her husband, Jan Debognies, and Christopher, Jeffrey and Troy Lalley.
