Course on grain bin safety Nov. 27

OREGON – A 6-hour grain handling safety workshop will focus on general grain bin operation, safety and rescue.

The workshop was developed by the Grain Handling Safety Coalition in cooperation with the University of Illinois.

The program will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Ogle County Farm Bureau building at 421 W. Pines Road. The instructor will be Robert Aherin, University of Illinois Extension safety specialist.

Topics include entanglement hazards, grain bin entry and safe handling and storage of grain.

The cost is $15 per person, $10 for each additional family member and $10 for those younger than 18. Registration is due Tuesday.
