Talent show proceeds to benefit LSSI

Published: Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 1:15 a.m. CST

Now that we need some healing of our souls after the events of the past few days, it’s really time for everyone in the Sauk Valley to come together in unity of spirit and celebrate “Peace, Love and Happiness,” the theme of the 12th annual edition of the Seeing Stars Talent Show.

It will take place at the Centennial Auditorium of Sterling High School this weekend at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The event’s tickets cost only $10 at the box office of the high school until 1 hour before each performance, and $12 thereafter.

Bring the young and adults of all ages, and you will be guaranteed a good time by Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, which sponsors the show.

LSSI uses the proceeds to benefit local programs for young and old.

Call the high school box office to reserve your tickets at 815-622-3248.

Thank you for your support and encouragement of the performers and clients of LSSI.

We all hope you enjoy the music of the 1960s through today as much as we enjoy bringing it to you!

Note to readers – The Rev. James G. Jaeger is pastor emeritus and a cast member.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
