GATEWOOD, Mo. – Edwin Wayne “Ed” Bright of Gatewood, Mo., formerly of Sterling, passed on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Poplar Bluff Medical Center, Poplar Bluff, Mo., after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Ed was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Rock Falls to Parley and Edna (Reisinger) Bright. He was a 1961 graduate of Rock Falls High School and served in the Army.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Gatewood; two brothers, Joe (Linda) Bright of Sterling and Frank Bright of Emerson; three sisters, Viola (Floyd) Johnston of Mount Vernon, Ark., Evelyn (Ron) Croy of Sterling and Phyllis (John) Leach of Rock Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Merton, Bobby, Raymond and Henry; and two sisters, Juanita and Shirley.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sterling American Legion.
