Holiday gift drive under way in Ogle County

Published: Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 1:15 a.m. CDT

Please help bring a little joy into the life of a child in need this holiday season. Earn your Earth Angel wings by sponsoring a child for Christmas.

With your contribution of a toy or donation, a child will know Santa didn’t forget them. Our goal is to reach out to families living in Ogle County; however, no family in need will be rejected. All five branches of military families qualify if they live in Ogle County. Please come forward and let us know any family who really needs this service, even if it’s your own. All information is confidential.

You can earn your wings by volunteering to help bake, wrap, pick up or deliver when the time comes, even if for only an hour or two. Remember, names being gathered need your help, generosity and open hearts for toys and donations to make this a success. Together, we can make Ogle County the largest group of bell-ringing Earth Angels again this year.

Deadline for toys is Dec. 14 at all drop sites. Distribution is done until all toys have been distributed or delivered in time for Christmas. Presents already wrapped are greatly appreciated. Earth Angel headquarters is at Mount Morris Senior Center, and toys or donations will be accepted through Christmas at the center.

Gift donations may be dropped at any drop site location, or call for pickup. Monetary donations can be mailed to Earth Angel, P.O. Box 188, Forreston, IL 61030-0188 or the Earth Angel Fund, c/o Forreston State Bank, 200 Main St., P.O. Box 278, Forreston, IL 61030-0278. You also can donate via PayPal to Earth Angels Wanted/Fundraiser. Go to our Facebook page for the link.
