STERLING – Melody Man Alex Ceruzzi is releasing a holiday album just in time for the most wonderful time of the year.

Ceruzzi, 66, of Canton, Ga., taught instrumental and vocal music at Prophetstown and Newman Central Catholic high schools in the 1970s. His son, Michael Ceruzzi, lives in Sterling.

His newest album is called “Christmas Holiday.” He wrote all eight songs, the first track, “Christmas Holiday,” in 1978 and the last this year.

“Dear Santa Claus” is one of his favorites.

“It’s about a child who writes a letter to Santa Claus, then he has a sudden change of heart,” Ceruzzi said. “He tells Santa he had a change of heart and would like to give his toys away to other deserving boys and girls.

“It’s a really heartfelt thing where young kids decide to give to others.”

This album is “guaranteed to lift your spirits,” he said.
