Walter Reter, a fourth-grader at Christ Lutheran, votes in a custom-made ballot booth held closed by fifth-grader Alison Pinion. Fifth-grade teacher Linda Miatke put together the mock presidential election lesson plan for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Christ Lutheran School fifth-grader Dylan Winstead checks sixth-grader Andrew Jones’ voter ID card before allowing him to vote in the Sterling school’s mock election Monday. The students made the ID cards, filed into a booth to cast their vote for president, and received an “I Voted” sticker.
