PORT EDWARDS, Wis. – Hildred June Davis, 92, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, Wis., where she lived since April 2006.

Hildred was born Jan. 28, 1920, to Leonard and Clara (Mandrell) Dillon in Benton, Franklin County, Ill. She married Carl Dempsey Davis on Aug. 20, 1938, in Benton, Scott County, Mo.

Hildred is survived by daughters, Joan Swanson-Joseph of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Deborah (Charles) Whitmore of Macomb; two sisters, Lola Kirkpatrick of Benton, Ill. and Judy Price of Barnhart, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Judy Davis of Rockford; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Darrel D. Davis, six brothers, three sisters and two grandsons.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks officiating. 

Burial is at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls. A memorial has been established to the Carmi Children’s Home in Carmi.     

McDonald Funeral Home and Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., handled arrangements.
