Delbert N. Bradley

STERLING – Delbert N. Bradley, 94, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Coventry Living Center in Sterling. 

He was the Sterling police chief for many years.  

Delbert was born Feb. 15, 1918, in Epworth, Iowa, the son of Nathan and Lillian (Boyes) Bradley. He married Hazel Edge on June 22, 1938, in Cascade, Iowa. She preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 1995. Delbert was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sterling.

He is survived by two daughters, Arletta (Harry) Shuman and Linda Chouinard, both of Sterling; two sisters, Viorene Huseman of Dubuque, Iowa, and Evelyn (Justin) Edge of Lacon; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, David Bradley; one sister, Nadine Bartmann; and two brothers, Irvin and Everet Bradley.

Visitation was Sunday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. The funeral is at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, with burial at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
