Linebacker feeling healthy for first time this season
Urlacher playing rust-free
By TOM MUSICK Shaw Media LAKE FOREST – After missing most of training camp because of arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has looked better on the field in recent weeks. It turns out Urlacher feels the same way. “I feel like I’m getting better every week,” Urlacher said before practice Thursday at Halas Hall. “The more I’m out there, the better I’m going to get. [I’m] just seeing plays. “I missed a lot of time during training camp. You don’t get to see the plays. You don’t realize how rusty you get. So the more I see them, the better I’ll get.” Urlacher will make his eighth start of the season (and the 176th of his career) Sunday when the Bears visit the Tennessee Titans. He registered a season-high 12 tackles to go along with a pass break-up in the Bears’ most recent win against the Carolina Panthers. Now almost 3 months removed from knee surgery, Urlacher said, he felt fully healthy. “Yeah, I’m there,” Urlacher said. “As 100 percent as I’m going to get.” Trick or treat: Bears linebacker Lance Briggs is enjoying one of the most productive seasons of his career, but that could not prevent him from being harassed by teenage trick-or-treaters. “Sadly, I turned the lights off a little bit,” Briggs said with a wry smile. “Had some kids, some 18-year-olds that kept ringing my doorbell all night. I just watched them on the cameras until they left. You’re too old to be trick or treating anyway. Come on.”
