Rockford woman admits to robbing a bank, stashing the money in bra

ROCKFORD (AP) – A Rockford woman has pleaded guilty to robbing a bank and stashing the money in her bra.

Federal prosecutors in northern Illinois say 32-year-old LaToya Shaunta Burrows pleaded guilty Monday. She admitted to robbing Associated Bank on March 20 as part of a plea agreement. Prosecutors say Burrows entered the bank and handed a teller a note that said: “Put the money in the bag and nobody will get hurt.”

However, the teller didn’t have a bag. Burrows grabbed the cash and stuffed the money into her bra before walking out. Rockford police arrested her nearby shortly after the robbery.Burrows faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, full restitution and 5 years of supervised release.
