Office owner’s generosity is valued greatly

On behalf of Twice-Sold Tales and the Friends of the Lanark Public Library, we would like to express our deepest thanks to Kipp Meyers for his incredible generosity, which made our used bookstore possible.

In April 2011, Kipp donated his empty office space to the group to serve as the location for a 1-day used book sale during Rally ’Round the Library. The sale was a huge success, generating several hundred dollars for the Lanark Public Library.

Many people asked for the sale to continue; when approached, Kipp generously donated the use of his office space until he had need of it again.

During the past 18 months, Twice-Sold Tales has exceeded $6,300 in sales, an achievement possible only through Kipp’s kindness. We always knew our situation was a temporary one, and since he is putting into effect planned changes, we find it necessary to relocate.

The Friends of the Lanark Public Library is committed to continuing to offer an extensive selection of good-condition books at inexpensive prices at Twice-Sold Tales. In addition, we are proud that our bookstore has drawn customers into town from more than 30 miles away, and that we have directed customers to other businesses in town.

We have hope that other civic-minded individuals will step forward and help us find a suitable location.

Once again, Friends of the Lanark Public Library wishes to express our deepest appreciation for Kipp Meyer’s generosity and assistance. Thank you for helping us succeed.

Note to readers – Carol Kruzek and Denise Krysiak are co-chairwomen of Twice-Sold Tales.
