DIXON – Cabaret-style musicians Mark and Gretch Hladish and Jo Hodgins are bringing “A Family Christmas” to the Historic Dixon Theatre at 7 p.m. Nov. 23.

The show, inspired by the seminal 1954 film “White Christmas,” features favorite holiday songs, hymns and carols, as well as humorous and heartwarming stories.

“We tell people it’s traditional. We tell people it’s filled with the memories we have of our Christmases gone by,” said Mark Hladish. “But really, everyone has a different idea of ‘traditional,’ so we tell people... it’s filled with the most memorable and well-loved Christmas music.”

The group is returning to Dixon; they first brought their holiday show to town last year.

“We have heard a lot of stories from people who come to our shows and now have made it part of their Christmas traditions,” Hladish said.

The group considers the Dixon show a highlight: The Historic Dixon Theatre is a one-of-a-kind venue.

The trio are resident performers at Millie’s Restaurant and Shopping Village in Delavan, Wis. They, along with their newest member, Jennifer Watters, perform more than 200 shows a year, including about 100 on the road, away from the boutique theater.

General admission tickets are $10 at www.dixontheatre.com and at the door.

The First National Bank of Amboy is sponsoring the show, with all proceeds to benefit Dixon Main Street.
