Susan Ottens is running for Whiteside County circuit clerk, and Dawn Young is running for Whiteside County recorder. As sheriff, I have worked closely with both and have an understanding of their duties and the complexity involved in their offices. These are not jobs that someone without any knowledge or experience could walk into and be successful. 

Susan has worked in the circuit clerk’s office for 24 years, the last 2 years as the circuit clerk. Her office handles all court cases, fines, fees, orders, and civil and criminal proceedings. She has to maintain the accuracy and integrity of those important records. 

Dawn has been with the recorder’s office for 31 years, the last 16 as the recorder. Her office handles all public land records in Whiteside County. The accuracy and integrity of public land records are vital.
