Ameren Illinois crews to help with storm repairs
BLOOMINGTON (AP) — Crews from Ameren Illinois are on the East Coast to help restore power after Superstorm Sandy.
Ameren spokesman Leigh Morris tells WJBC Radio (http://bit.ly/S9IJy8 ) that 67 workers, field personnel, linemen and supervisors are in New Jersey to assess damage and restore power.
Morris says storms with high winds typically break off major tree limbs, snap trees in two or uproot trees. He says that's why nearly 100 forestry and electric contractors are also headed east.
