Youth programs offered in Byron

BYRON – November activities are planned at the Jarrett Center at Byron Forest Preserve, 7993 N. River Road.

Webelos Forester program for all Webelo Scouts will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. All equipment will be provided. Register by Wednesday.

Homeschool class programs for youth 6 to 14 will be Friday. Space and time will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Natural colors will be from noon to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for each class. Register by Monday.

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
