Why everyone should vote on Election Day

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

As an American citizen of the nation, under God, that I love, I can do no less than vote, remembering all of our forefathers and patriots who died to give me the freedom to vote.

In our nation, founded on government of the people, by the people and for the people, the only way that continues to happen is when its citizens vote. All who fail to take advantage of their right to vote also give up their right to complain. If a person feels that they are unhappy with the choices, a write-in lets the powers that be know of their dissatisfaction.

It is time to stop letting the minority run the country because the majority does not take the time and effort to get out to vote. It would be great for the Sauk Valley to have a 100 percent turnout. Vote Nov. 6.
