DIXON – Students at Jefferson Elementary and St. Mary schools will learn about the dangers of tobacco use during the week of Nov. 12.

In connection with the Great American Smokeout Nov. 15, students in fifth grade will take part in the American Cancer Society’s “Day by Day we are Learning to be Smoke-Free” program. Lessons will be incorporated in different subjects during the week. The Lee County Health Department is working with the society during this project.

Visit www.cancer.org or call 800-227-2345 for more information about fighting cancer.
