Volleyball: Oregon, Erie overcome first-set losses, win regional titles

Delaney Mahoney had the Oregon kill machine firing on all cylinders, as the Hawks beat Rockford Lutheran 24-26, 25-19, 25-23 on Tuesday in the Class 2A Rockford Christian Life Regional final.
The sophomore setter racked up 35 assists and five Hawks had at least six kills. Cydney Long had 10, Devyn Absher and Emy Wright had eight, Hailey Long had seven, and Shannon Cullen added six.
“Delaney really shined tonight,” Oregon coach Christy Sitze said. “Her passing and decision-making was outstanding.”
