Info on Thursday accident sought

STERLING – Sterling police are asking for witnesses to contact them about a traffic incident at 5:57 p.m. Thursday.

A blue 2009 Chevrolet Suburban heading west on East Fifth Street entered the intersection with Locust Street, colliding with a 2008 Honda Accord that was southbound on Locust Street. Both drivers claimed to have a green light. There were no injuries.

Dixon Police

Damien M. Cook, 20, of Dixon; 12:15 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of West Everett Street; driving while license suspended; released after posting bond.

Amboy Police

Kevin C. Schmidt, 27, of Sublette; 12:50 p.m. Friday at Casey’s General Store, 308 E. Main St.; illegal transportation of alcohol; issued citation and released after posting bond.

Sterling Police

William C. Elder, 19, of Rock Falls; 2:21 p.m. Friday; resisting a peace officer – Class 4 felony, resisting a peace officer – misdemeanor, unlawful use of a weapon – possession of brass knuckles; taken to Whiteside County Jail. During a traffic stop, Elder had to be physically taken into custody. While being brought down by police, brass knuckles fell out of his pocket. Two officers received minor abrasions. Also arrested was Rory K. Jackson, 32, of Rock Falls; driving while license suspended; posted cash bond.

Nathan A. Nicewanner, 22, of Sterling; 4:38 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Avenue D; Whiteside County warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense; taken to Whiteside County Jail,

Jade N. Filippi, 21, of Rock Falls; 10:34 a.m. Thursday at East Third Street and 18th Avenue; no insurance, no seat belt; posted driver’s license as bond.

Joshua D. Bevins, 29, of Rockford; 11:45 a.m. Thursday at Lynn Boulevard and Sixth Avenue; Ogle County warrant for traffic offense; posted $150 bond.

WIlliam D. Worcester, 43, of Sterling; 12:16 p.m. Thursday at Locust and East 14th streets; failure to secure new registration; given notice to appear.

Adriela M. Olalde-Herrera, 18, of Sterling; 3:22 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Avenue K; improper backing; posted driver’s license as bond.

Crystal Y. Parks, 35, of Como; 8:40 p.m. Thursday at West Fourth Street and Avenue G; Whiteside County warrant for failure to pay or appear on a charge of burglary; posted $175 cash bond.

Jesse D. Bethel, 19, of Sterling; 9:19 p.m. Thursday at West Fifth Street and Avenue F; no insurance; posted driver’s license as bond.

Falecia A. Banks, 35, of Freeport; 10:11 p.m. Thursday at Locust and East 12th streets; Whiteside County warrant for contempt of court; posted $300 cash bond.

Michael W. Miller, 27, of Sterling; 10:55 p.m. Thursday at West LeFevre Road and Dillon Avenue; driving while license revoked, no insurance, no rear registration plate light; given notice to appear.

Ernesto Estolano Reyes, 29, of Savanna; 9:28 p.m. Wednesday at U.S. Route 30 and 14th Avenue in Rock Falls; no valid driver’s license; posted I-bond and given court date.

Jorge D. Contreras, 24, of Cary; 5:18 p.m. Wednesday at U.S. Route 30 and Interstate 39 in Lee County; no valid driver’s license, speeding; posted I-bond and given court date.
