Michael S. DeSmith Sr.
ROCK FALLS – Michael S. DeSmith Sr., 66, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Michael was born Feb. 14, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Rollin George and Phyllis Loraine (Petty) DeSmith. He worked as a janitor at Industrial Overlay for many years. Michael served in the Navy and married Cynthia Lewis on Sept. 22, 2000, in Sterling.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia of Rock Falls; three daughters, Lisa Kathryn (James III) Nelson of Kentucky, Amanda Marie-Ann Boone of Rock Falls, and Charlotte June Kestner of Virginia; two sons, Michael Stewart DeSmith II of Rock Falls, and David Gors of Rockford; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Falls.
