Palen: ‘I am aware that these are difficult times’

My wife, Renie, and I live at 909 Brinton Ave. in Dixon. We have three children and three grandchildren. I received a bachelor of arts degree from Loras College.

I am retired from the insurance and real estate businesses. I have been a past exalted ruler of the Dixon Elks Lodge, past president of the Dixon Noon Lions club, past president of the Ogle-Lee Crime Stoppers, and a member of the Dixon Moose Lodge.

I served as a director of the Dixon water board, and I have served on the United Way and the Petunia Festival boards.
