Interview with state House candidate Morthland
Sauk Valley Media’s election multimedia preview coverage continued with the interview of state Rep. Rich Morthland, R-Cordova, who is seeking a second term in the 71st state House district. The campaign for his opponent, Mike Smiddy, D-Hillsdale, declined SVM’s invitation. Campaign spokesman Benjamin Head said he thinks SVM’s coverage had been biased against Smiddy.
After redistricting, the 71st state House district includes most of Whiteside County and western Carroll County.
