• Also Sunday, 10 percent of all proceeds at Culver’s, 1317 N. Galena Ave., will be donated to the park.

• Monday, Sauk Valley Community College will present Honoring Our Veterans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the campus, 173 state Route 2. Military vehicles will be displayed, and military personnel and members of the Student Veterans Organization will be on hand. Raffle tickets will be sold from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., when four prize packages will be awarded. The grand prize is a 10-inch touchscreen Internet tablet. Proceeds also benefit Veterans Memorial Park. Call 815-835-6390 for more information.

Erie

A coffee reception for veterans will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Erie Fire Station, 807 Ninth Ave.

Franklin Grove

Ben Enlow, who served in the Army in Iraq and is a former Ashton-Franklin Center Elementary School student, will speak from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday in the gym, 217 S. Elm St. Call 815-456-2325 for more information.

Fulton

A veterans’ and grandparents’ recognition day starts at 8 a.m. Friday at Unity Christian Elementary School, 1000 11th Ave., and Unity Christian High School, 711 10th St. Veterans, grandparents and the public can sign in from 8 to 8:30 a.m. at either school, and visit classrooms until 9:15 a.m. Refreshments will be served from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. at the high school, followed by a chapel ceremony from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Students will be dismissed at 11:10 a.m. Call 815-589-3912 for more information.

Lanark

A breakfast for veterans, their spouses and spouses of deceased veterans will be at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at Eastland High School, 500 S. School Drive. Call 815-493-6341 to make reservations. An assembly begins at 8:30 a.m. in the high school gym. Lt. Col. Todd S. Reed, deputy commander and chief of staff for the Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District, will discuss “The Importance of Observing Veterans Day.” Eastland students will perform patriotic music.

Milledgeville

A Veterans Day program will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Milledgeville High School, 100 E. Eighth St. There will be a speaker and music by the school band. Call 815-225-7141 for more information.
