AMBOY – James D. Laemmel, 83, of Amboy, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Mendota Community Hospital. He tended bar at the Long Branch Saloon in Amboy for 32 years before retiring.

He was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Lincoln Park, Mich., the son of Walter F. and E. Marie (Harrison) Laemmel. He was a veteran of the Army and a lifetime member of the Amboy American Legion Post.

He is survived by one sister, Marilyn G Wasson of West Seneca, N.Y.; one brother, William K (Barb) Laemmel of Amboy; and several nieces and nephews.
