Eastland-Pearl City scores winning TD with 18 seconds left

Catz finish comeback

LANARK – Down by a point with precious few seconds remaining and an undefeated season hanging in the balance, Eastland-Pearl City would not be denied.

On second-and-10 from the Forreston 14, Wildcatz quarterback Tim Vandenburgh dropped back to pass while teammate Ben Thomas began his pattern. Lined up on the left side, Thomas broke free in the middle of the end zone.

Vanderburgh did not miss, hitting Thomas for the go-ahead touchdown with 18.1 seconds left and sending EPC to a dramatic 31-26 comeback win over the Cardinals on Friday night at Eastland High School.
