Dukes can’t hold early lead in loss to Streator

Bulldogged

DIXON – Stifled by slow starts all season long, the Dixon Dukes came out ready and raring to go Friday night in their season finale at A.C. Bowers Field.

But after taking a 14-0 lead less than 8 minutes into the game against Streator, the Bulldogs bounced back in a big way. Junior running back Drew Muntz ran for a school-record 305 yards and four touchdowns as Streator won the battle of 0-8 teams 34-14.

“It was Senior Night, and we came out saying, ‘Let’s do this, we got this, there’s no holding back,’ ” senior running back Justin White said. “Then we got the early lead, and I guess we thought the game was already ours and we stopped going as hard.”
