“The people in Dixon are some of the nicest people we have ever met.” That is one of more than 100 similar comments made to me in person and by phone, letters and emails during and after the Mumford and Sons concert.   

They were referring to the residents, service people, volunteers and police. One couple from the Chicago area said they had never met such friendly and courteous cops. Main Street volunteers heard similar comments.

Many of the out-of-state visitors said they liked Dixon so much that they would return.
