Wetzell: ‘Will work hard to make sound decisions’

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

My name is Douglas Wetzell, and I am a candidate for Whiteside County Board from District 2. I live in Hahnaman Township south of Deer Grove, and I have been a lifelong farmer in the area. I have four grown children and nine grandchildren.

I am very active in the community. I have served on the Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico Unit School District 3 Board for 35 years, currently serving as vice president. I also am supervisor of Hahnaman Township. I am finance chairman of Tampico United Methodist Church and also treasurer of the Tampico Fire Department, where I have been a member for 26 years.

I believe I am a good candidate for county board, where I have served 2 years, because of the experience I have from serving the boards I have been on. I will work hard to make sound decisions for the county and District 2.

Past boards I have served on include the Whiteside County Pork Producers and the Whiteside County Farm Bureau.
