Jacoby: ‘Experience counts’ in service to county residents
I am Gene Jacoby, and I am running for Whiteside County Board, District 2. I live in Rock Falls and have been a resident of Whiteside County all of my life. I am married to my wife, Cathy, and my children are Mitch and Missy Jacoby and Julie and Craig Kuprianczyk. I have three grandchildren Grant, Hannah and Kit.
I attended Sterling High School, Sauk Valley College and Northern Illinois University. I work for the Illinois Tollway and previously worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire for 27 years.
I am very community oriented and support all residents in the county. I attend St. Andrew’s Church in Rock Falls. I am also a committee member for the Whiteside County Relay for Life, Rock River Ducks Unlimited, Rock Falls Optimist Club and the Sterling Moose Lodge.
I am a social member at the Rock Falls American Legion, VFW, and the Latin American Social Club. I have served on the Coloma Township Board for 35 years and have attended educational training seminars.
In my 14 years on the Whiteside County Board, I have served on the county officer committee. I also served as chairman and currently am serving as vice chairman of the health and social services committee. This has enabled me to work with Whiteside County department heads and their personnel to develop and sustain programs for our county.
As elected officials, we have a responsibility to serve our citizens in Whiteside County. Sometimes this means discussing issues with people at football games, gas stations or grocery stores. Our residents have the right to expect honest and forthright answers.
I have enjoyed being your local representative for the past 14 years. I would appreciate your vote on Nov. 6. Experience counts.
