Second debate in 17th remains focused on jobs
Candidates highlight differences of opinion on Bring Jobs Home Act
ROCKFORD – As expected, jobs and how to keep them in the country were the hot topic at an otherwise lackluster debate Wednesday between candidates for the hotly contested 17th Congressional District.
U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling, R-Colona, and former East Moline Alderwoman Cheri Bustos battled in a televised debate for the second time in a week before an audience at the Rockford Public School headquarters.
Even when the questions weren’t specifically about jobs, the discussion found its way back to the topic.
