Rock Falls businessman offers land to city
Spot would be good for new business, mayor says
POLO – A Rock Falls businessman is offering the city a piece of real estate that could prove to be valuable for business development.
Mayor Mark Scholl told the City Council on Monday that Arthur Johnson has offered to give the city his parcel of land at 212 S. Division Ave., a vacant lot on state Route 26 south of the Shell station Johnson also owns.
“To me, the land is very important because it’s on Route 26” and would be a good location for a business, Scholl said.
