Local roundup: Sterling sweeps Streator, wins outright NIB-12 West title
Dale Dykeman was just fine with his Sterling girls volleyball team enjoying its outright Northern Illinois Big 12 West title, by way of a 25-21, 25-16 victory Tuesday in Streator.
But now it’s on to the next one.
“They’re enjoying it, as an outright conference title was one of our goals for the season,” Dykeman said. “But we’re trying not to get too complacent. We need to finish our job and beat Geneseo to go undefeated in the conference. Then we can make some noise in the postseason.”
