Eleanor S. Pitcher 1915-2012

DIXON – Eleanor S. Pitcher, 97, of Dixon, formerly of Princeton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Heritage Square in Dixon.

She was born April 20, 1915, in Amboy, the daughter of Louie A. and Rosella (Hurley) Scott. She graduated from Amboy High School and was a lifelong homemaker. Eleanor married LetB Pitcher on Nov. 20, 1940, in Dallas. He died in 1996.  

She is survived by her grandchildren, Matt Greenwood of San Diego, and Amy Greenwood of Denver; and her son-in-law, Tom Girsch of Waterloo, Iowa. Also surviving are one sister, Delores Smidebush of Madison, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Molly Girsch; and her brother, Jack Scott.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Thursday at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton, with John Murphy, deacon, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.

Memorials may be directed to Heritage Square Retirement Home.
