William C. Rice

MORRISON – William C. Rice, 87, of Morrison, died Friday Oct. 12, 2012 at his home. He was a farmer in rural Morrison before becoming a service manager for Minneapolis Implement Dealership in Erie. He worked for Drives Inc. in Fulton for 26 years until retiring.

He was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Coleta, the son of William J. and Mabel J. (Vaughn) Rice. He married Ardythe A. James on May 2, 1948, in Morrison.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Jamie (Steve) Todd of Morton; son, William A. (Diana) Rice of Morrison; brother, Bertrand Rice of Morrison; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Gladys Cortwright, Mildred Ogan, Alice Hogland and Marjorie Forder; and two brothers, Norman and Malcolm Rice.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, with the Rev. David Jungnickel, pastor of Coleta United Methodist Church and East Jordan United Methodist Church, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will be at Heaton Cemetery in Morrison.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, Vitas Innovative Hospice Care or Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center in East Peoria.
