PROPHETSTOWN – Dorothy E. Waldbusser, 88, of Prophetstown, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. She worked at MicroGear in Prophetstown.

Dorothy was born Oct. 8, 1924, the daughter of Claude and Effie (Huizenga) Glazier. She married Alfred H. Waldbusser on Feb. 17, 1945, in Erie. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2007. She was a member of Leon United Methodist Church in Prophetstown.

Survivors include one son, Alan (Barbara) Waldbusser of Purdy, Mo.; one daughter, Peggy (Doug) Moews of Brookfield, Wis.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a nephew.

She also was preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Glazier; and three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Clarence “Smoky” Glazier.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, 320 Lafayette St., Prophetstown. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Leon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rolland Hayag, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.

Memorials may be made to Leon United Methodist Church.

On pensions, Bivins and GOP far apart

Sen. Tim Bivins, R-Dixon, joined with many of his fellow Senate Republicans this week to reject a pension bill sponsored by Democratic Senate President John Cullerton of Chicago. The measure passed 40-16. Bivins had a different reason for his no vote.
