POLO – Belva V. Hammer, 97, of Polo, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Polo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

She was born Nov. 19, 1914, in Lincoln Township, Ogle County, to George and Sadie (Zumdahl) Hammer. She was an inactive member of West Branch Church of The Brethren.

Survivors include two sisters, Blanche Bloyer and Norma Stuff; and one brother, Maynard (Dorris) Hammer.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private funeral services and interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo. Polo Family Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Polo Senior Center or Polo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
