Marvin C. Tervelt

MORRISON – Marvin C. Tervelt, 95, of Morrison, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison. He worked for 35 years at the U.S. Post Office in Morrison until retiring, and then was a director's assistant at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Homes.

Marvin was born Jan. 29, 1917, in Fenton, the son of Lena Tervelt. He married Eleanor J. Holesinger on Feb. 21, 1940, in Morrison. She preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 2007. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.

Survivors include one daughter, Larinda (Joe Pearson) Tervelt of Avondale Estates, Ga.; three sons, Richard (Bonnie) Tervelt of Burlington, N.C., Ronald (Carole) Tervelt of Clayton, Calif., and Larry (Deb) Tervelt of Loves Park; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2 p.m., Saturday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, with Ken Renkes, director of congregational care at Ebenezer Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice in Clinton, Iowa.
