Jack M. Swanson
ASHTON – Jack M. Swanson, 90, of Ashton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Lifehouse Liberty Court in Dixon.
Jack was born May 23, 1922, in Princeton, the son of Frank and Edith (Anderson) Swanson. He married Jean Allen Van Ormer of Manlius. She preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2010. Jack served in the Army during World War II as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. He then graduated from the University of Illinois. After teaching high school, Jack began a career spanning more than 60 years as a farmer and businessman in Ashton.
Survivors include his son, David, and his wife, Grace, and their children, Eric and Danielle, all of Santa Ana, Calif.; his son, Jay, and his wife, Lillian of Medfield, Mass., and their children, John and David of Medfield and Sarah of Atlanta; and one sister, Jean (Robert) Yates of Princeton.
