Vote Obama; move forward, not backward

I'm a proud supporter of President Obama, whose vision will move the country forward, not backward, and will best fulfill the American dream for all.

President Obama was dealt a terrible hand with the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Progress has been made: five million private-sector jobs created; auto industry up and running; tax cut for every American working; small business taxes cut 18 times. The stimulus bill created many jobs but wasn't big enough to handle the crisis.

The Affordable Healthcare Act, aka "Obamacare," is almost identical to Gov. Romney's plan in Massachusetts, alive and well, liked by its citizens. Is the act perfect? No. Changes still need to be made.

There was a big fly in the ointment during the last 4 years – an obstructionist, no-compromise Congress. The Republican House refused to compromise and brought the country to the brink of disaster by its refusal to raise the debt ceiling, causing the downgrading of the government.

A Republican president and Congress could destroy many social accomplishments of the last 80 years. Read the GOP/Ryan budget as passed by the Republican House; it contains massive cuts in education and could cut every single government program except Defense.

Do you want compromise and a balanced approach to the deficit with increased revenue and decreases in spending? Or, do you want tax breaks for big oil, corporations that pay no taxes, destruction of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and our federal government as we know it?
