Patricia M. ‘Patty’ Beggs

STERLING – Patricia M. “Patty” Beggs, 76, of Sterling, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, surrounded by her family.

Patty was born July 29, 1936, the daughter of Dewey D. and Gertrude “Gertie” (Schoffner) Dale. She married Lewis J. Beggs Jr. on July 30, 1954, in Sterling. She was employed by National Manufacturing in Sterling for many years, until her retirement in 1985 due to disability. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed camping, boating, crocheting and driving her car to take her friends out to eat.

Survivors include her husband, Lewis, and her children, Lewis J. “Jack” (Karen) Beggs III, Candy (Mark Sanders) Koester and Dewey (Penny) Beggs, all of Sterling; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Florence Davis of Rock Falls; three sisters-in-law, Doris (Tim) Dale Smith of Buda, Lucille (Demp) Rice of Coleta and Peggy (Donald) Beswick of Morrison; one brother-in-law, Timothy (Sonja) McEvoy of Rock Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
