DIXON – Local relatives of a North Carolina man recovering from a May fall will have a fundraising concert for him at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church, 131 N. Court St.

Joe Pacileo, 65, is the brother of Mary Padgett and Anne Sheaffer, both of Dixon. Joe contracted polio as a child in 1953, and was left having to use crutches and a brace on his right leg. He also has used a wheelchair for the past 20 years.

Joe fell May 3 when his brace broke, and suffered a broken right kneecap and damaged left kneecap. He and his wife, Cindy, are facing thousands of dollars in medical expenses.

Donations will be accepted during the concert. Several members of the Padgett and Sheaffer families will perform. Refreshments will be served.

Call Padgett at 815-284-3674 or Sheaffer at 815-973-6224 for more information.
