Adams makes new confession in Dixon murder, police say

Adams has two rape convictions in Cook County.

One of those rapes was similar to Atherton's murder, prosecutors say.

Both women’s hands were bound, both were forced to lie face down on a bed, and police found no evidence of forced entry into either home. Adams tried to suffocate the rape victim with a pillow.

Buh told Judge Beckman on Tuesday that he intends to present evidence of the rapes at Adams' sentencing hearing.

On pensions, Bivins and GOP far apart

Sen. Tim Bivins, R-Dixon, joined with many of his fellow Senate Republicans this week to reject a pension bill sponsored by Democratic Senate President John Cullerton of Chicago. The measure passed 40-16. Bivins had a different reason for his no vote.
