Life Chain forms in Dixon

About 100 people lined the Galena Avenue Bridge in Dixon on Sunday holding signs asking passersby to pray for the end of abortion in the United States. Traditionally on the first Sunday of October, Life Chain, a pro-life group, invites churches and organizations to stand for 1 hour to pray and rally.

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
