STERLING – There will be food, music and more Sunday to help a Rock Falls man facing medical expenses.

Dennis L. Kerkove, 52, had a hemorrhagic stroke July 18, causing bleeding and cell death in his brain. He underwent surgery to remove a bone flap and relieve pressure from brain swelling. Dennis since has returned home, but is receiving physical, occupational and speech therapy at CGH Medical Center.

Brenda Murray, Dennis’s fiancée, said, “He doesn’t have insurance. He had his own lawn care business.”
