It was my great pleasure to tell stories at the 10th annual Sterling Storytelling Festival recently. I enjoyed spending time with the wonderful folks who gathered there. Those in attendance and my fellow storytellers were way beyond nice.

The area is fortunate to have such a tremendous resource and as marvelous a celebration as the Sterling Storytelling Festival. It is likewise gifted to have those people whose hard work and foresight make this festival the important event that it is.

It was truly a celebration. It made my life better.

My thanks to everyone (organizers, sponsors, workers and audiences) associated with the Sterling Storytelling Festival for all the good work they do and for allowing me to spend time in their midst. Particular thanks to the Sterling Public Library and Woodlawn Arts Academy.

I had a grand stay in the Sterling and Rock Falls area. I carry wonderful memories of the chapter of my life spent in your delightful corner of the world. The Sterling Storytelling Festival is a joyful event.

Note to readers – Al Batt has been a storyteller all his life, full-time since 1997.
