MORRISON – Rex B. Given Sr., 72, of 15739 Hazel Road, Morrison, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, Iowa. He was employed by General Electric in Morrison for more than 30 years.

Rex was born March 2, 1940, in Morrison, the son of Brooks E. and Rose L. (Shepard) Given. He married Carol L. Hagerty on Nov. 29, 1956, in Morrison. He was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Kathy Frederick and LeeAnn (Mark) Steele, and one son, Rex B. (Bonnie) Given Jr., all of Morrison; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony Given; one granddaughter; and one brother, Ronnie Given.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Morrison United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dan Schenck, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

Memorials have been established to Happy Tails Animal Shelter in Rock Falls and Clinton Victory Center in Clinton, Iowa.
