POLO – Ada E. Stone, 102, of Polo, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She owned the Cozy Cafe restaurant in Polo for many years.

Ada was born Oct. 30, 1909, in Sterling, the daughter of James Orville and Elizabeth L. (Steinhagen) Paschal. She was united in marriage to James W. Stone on Feb. 13, 1932, in Mount Carroll. He preceded her on June 16, 1985. Ada was a longtime member of the Church of the Open Bible in Polo.  

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by eight sisters and five brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Polo Family Funeral Home, with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Church of the Open Bible in Polo.
